Sporty t

October 13th, 2008

It’s such a fun time of year! The leaves are turning, the weather is getting a little cooler and the kids are back playing sports with their friends.  Even the littler ones are getting into the fun of Fall by going to pumpkin patches and corn mazes and jumping in leaf piles.

Our new item, the tB sporty tshirt is fast becoming a favorite among boys and girls. It’s luxurious feel along with the soft and stretchy combination are ideal for the active kid. Some choose to use it as a layer when playing sports and others want it as their shirt for school.

We chose basic colors, such as pink, red, navy, black and ivory so it can work for any boy or girl. The older girls and moms can choose from ivory or white in the ladies section.

Once you try it you’ll be hooked!

S’more Fun

September 6th, 2008

We ended the summer on a good note — a campfire with s’mores out West.  The kids had pajamas on and we made s’mores while watching the stars. We even saw two shooting stars that night!

The tB signature pullover is a staple in our wardrobes all year long and we are hearing from others they are wearing them in winter and summer as well. We find they travel easily and kids choose them time and again.

We are happy to say that we have a whole new run of them coming in shortly as well as a new style that we think will be a big hit with girls.

Hope you had a great summer and we want to hear about your active Fall.  Keep sending photos!

Let’s be twins

August 16th, 2008

Little girls often ask their friends or their sister to be twins, which really just means to dress in the same outfit.  I only had one sister so we were often dressed in the same thing on purpose by our mom as her way of simplifying. However, we are learning from some moms out there that their little girls are asking if they can dress like their sister in the same tottieBEAN swimsuit.  They both want to wear the same style but are often opting to change the color so they maintain their little bit of individuality.

These two cuties were sent to us by a mom who writes that her daughters never wanted to dress alike until they saw these tottieBEAN swimsuits. They love the ruffle, the turtle and most of all that they looked like twins when they would wear them together.

We are so happy little girls and moms alike are enjoying wearing their tottieBEAN swimsuits this summer!

NYC launch

August 7th, 2008

What a fun and exciting thing it is to bring tottieBEAN to NYC and launch it at the Children’s Show! We had a great response, we met amazing designers who are now friends, and had press wanting to write about us in their trend reports. We didn’t know what it would be like so we kept expectations low. In the end, we left energized, excited and inspired.

Our booth was simple and clean and was received well. Here are a few dark shots taken from our phone camera ~ again, we didn’t know what to expect so we didn’t bring a proper camera!

We will continue to keep you updated as we grow and learn more things! Thanks for all your support.

Dockside

July 26th, 2008

Growing up in the Midwest we had a lot of fun by the lake during the summer months. A good friend from high school sent me this photo of her daughter on a dock at the lake and it just brought back all the fun memories of being a kid on a dock in the summer. She is so relaxed and sweet in our tB classic bikini, we couldn’t have asked for a better model to represent us!

My sister and I are having such a great time creating these clothes and we love how it’s bringing back the fun memories of youth for us and at the same time creating new ones with our children.

Keep sending us your photos of yourself or your kids in tottieBEAN ~ we love to see the pictures!

Summer Friends

July 17th, 2008

When kids make a new friend it is sweet to witness. They are sometimes shy but curious and it’s fun to see how they act with someone completely new.  This summer our kids made friends with two adorable sisters that were in the beach house next to us. After a quick ‘hello’ the kids were all set to be buddies ~ nothing else needed except name and age.

As adults we are so busy with everyday life that keeping up with old friends, current friends and family is sometimes overwhelming. We all miss the carefree days of just hanging out with a new buddy. Hopefully these new friends will become our Summer Friends - the ones we continue to see and keep in touch with as all the kids grow a little bit more each summer. It’s great when the Summer Friends become friends for life!

Carnival

July 10th, 2008

The Carnival came to town and we just had to go! It was a small town show but the kids sure didn’t know any better. There were only a handful of rides and a half dozen games to play ~ just enough to get kids excited and the parents to feel their children were safe. That is the goal of every parent: to give them opportunities for happy memories and keeping them safe.

Just saying the Carnival is in town makes you think of summer, family and kids at the same time.  Few words can capture it as well.  tottieBEAN hopes that all kids get to experience the joys of a family outing to the Carnival — to ride the ferris wheel and win a prize at one of the booths.

Our tB long sleeve tshirt was the perfect weight for a summer night to ride the rides with the ocean breeze. She was comfortable and didn’t get cold.  Plus, she just loves the turtle!

Share with us how your children are enjoying the summer and photos of them in tottieBEAN!

Game?

July 9th, 2008

Kids are so great - they just want to play! And somewhere along the way we lose time for playing. I love seeing kids making up games or maybe they are walking in a city with a baseball glove on their hand, or just in the sand like this boy is with a badminton racquet but no net. It’s simple and sweet how they can still have fun when it’s not perfect or the ingredients aren’t just right.

The photo shows him wearing a sample of our upcoming number t - basic, comfortable and just right for any sporting moment.

So take a cue from the kids and get out there and just play something.

Happy Independence Day

July 4th, 2008

Mix it up. Be yourself. Have fun with tottieBEAN and express your own style.

When you are young you learn to walk, you learn to run, you learn to balance on one leg, and soon you are off on your own. It’s all part of learning to be independent. Today, to celebrate the 4th of July, we want to encourage all kids to not only learn to balance but to also be your own independent self!  Have a great day!

Competition

July 3rd, 2008

We all love a little competition. And our kids like it, too. We want to embrace their sibling rivalries as well as friendly competition among friends.

For tottieBEAN, we know there are so many companies out there all competing for your business. And as a consumer, we know you shop around. We hope that you give us a shot and see that we are not only another company making tshirts or kid swimsuits, but that we are trying to get our kids active.  We want, like you, our kids to run around, playing hopscotch to soccer to riding horses.

We are different from the rest because we are two sisters, two moms, and two consumers like you that want clothes for kids that we like and the kids will want to wear. It’s frustrating as a parent to purchase clothes that our kids just don’t want to wear.

We are so pleased with the feedback from parents and kids that they all like our clothes, they all look for the turtle and are sad when they are dirty because they can’t wear them!  So while we love a little friendly competition, we sure hope we can win your confidence in us and try tottieBEAN for yourselves.

Here’s a little photo of some tshirts that will be featured for our spring 2009 line. If you are interested, you can email us for an early order.
